There is extensive work being done on this building (which sorely needs it) but no permits posted. I've been in the building and it was a borderline tear-down. There were previously code violations, and current work may be covering up dangerous conditions, L&I needs to inspect.

So this must be your building eh? Have fun with your L&I violations and the impending stop work order. Do things the right way like most other legitimate contractors and this isn't even an issue.
Why would I want this building? The front wall is collapsing, the side wall is bowing, the roof rafters are bowed and splintered, the rear addition is built on top of a CMU wall without a proper foundation, the plywood sheathing was exposed to the elements for years, there are 80 gallon drums of possibly carcinogenic pesticides in the basement that need to be disposed of properly, and it's on a block with 3 other long term vacant buildings. Looks like you're just going to cover the bulging brick with stucco and are hiding the rear addition under Tyvek.
I wanted the city to tear it down, but if someone can fix it, good luck to them, so long as they do it right. That block needs it, but there are building codes intended for people's safety. Fly by night contractors working without permits should not be allowed to operate in this city.
