Description
On Lawrence street, at the intersection with Nash, cars park illegally in the no standing zone. These cars block the vision of drivers and cyclists pulling out of Nash Street.
This is an ongoing issue, with different cars parking there all the time.

This is a serious safety hazard that should be immediately addressed.
In the medium term, a bump out should be installed so this can't happen.
In the short-term, bollards can be installed until a more permanent curb extension can be installed. Other cities do this all the time. If the city isn't willing to install bollards right away before someone is killed due to the lack of visibility, residents should go out with planters or something.

yeah that's why I like the rubber ribs. you can paint them bright yellow for visibility and a couple of small bollards or sticks are enough to remind the plows not to go there.
such a cheap solution to a life or death issue, yet the city can't take immediate action?

Has anyone called Transportation, Traffic & Parking at 203.946.8075 to report this issue??
They love to issue tickets :-)

let's just build some planters and do it!

Are you still thinking about building some planters here?

I don't see cars parked here any more whenever I walk/drive/bike by. Should this issue be closed?
I'm not sure about the bit about "cars block the vision of drivers and cyclists pulling out of Nash Street" anyway. How is this any different than pulling out onto any other street that has on-street parking? Seems like the no standing zone should be removed since this is no longer a school.
