Description
The intersection of Worthington Rd. and Rte 100 needs several pedestian safety improvements. 1) There are no "walk/don't walk" signals despite the fact that Rte. 100 has a 55 mph speed limit. Pedestrians have no way of knowing how long they have before the green light is going to change. 2) To reach the button for a green light, one has to walk through 6 inch high weeds and grass. The area should be cleaned up to make the area more accessible to pedestrians. 3) Pedestrians walking from Route 100 to the Aspenwood development are forced to cross the Route 100 SB exit ramp to Worthington Rd. Vehicles are exiting Rte. 100 at high speed and there is no crosswalk and no signage alerting drivers to be alert for pedestrians. This is an unsafe situation.

Roadway plans are in their final stages and review by PennDOT to widen and improve Route 100 from Rutgers/Gordon Drives down to Swedesford Road. Pedestrian amenities are being added as part of this improvement and will include pedestrian signal heads, ADA compliant pushbuttons and ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps to reach each button.
